"Everyone has a story they refuse to part with" represents the inner turmoil of the individual. It is a metaphor for familial stories of pain and trauma passed down through the generations. Our childhood experiences mold and develop our character, shaping our worldview and often expressed as dysfunctions or stresses. In turn, our stories and their structures are passed on to our children.
Unless these stories are recognized for what they are, they continue to permeate the foundation for relationships with family, friends and colleagues, informing identity both for self and others.
